-GMO stands for genetically modified organism. It is when a plant or animal has been genetically engineered with DNA thats it does not originate with. It is an experimental procedure to make and sometimes helps prevent insects from eating the food. They can cause health problems and environmental damage to farmers fields.

Are foods containing GMO’s labeled?

-No, in some states they are passing laws to provide a label if the product contains GMO’s, but as of right now there are no federal laws stating that.
